What Do Our Users Say?

It’s not just about shade — it still produces solid power output even if something like bird droppings partially cover the panel, which is a real game changer for me.

@LoveSundays

I installed the latest and greatest Renogy solar panel on my adventure van. Perfect for van life and camping.

@Arkopia

Perfect for overlanders, off-grid adventurers, and anyone looking to maximize their solar efficiency in unpredictable environments.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size off-grid system do I need for my cabin/shed?

The right size depends on your energy consumption and location. Our pre-configured kits (e.g., 10kWh, 15kWh) are a great starting point. For a detailed calculation, we recommend using our onlineOff-Grid System Sizing Calculatoror consulting with one of our experts. You'll need to list all your appliances, their wattage, and daily usage hours to determine your total daily Watt-hour (Wh) needs

Are these kits suitable for 24V or 48V systems?

Yes. While many of our entry-level kits are based on scalable 12V architecture for simplicity, our systems are designed to be expanded. You can easily series-connect our LiFePO4 batteries to create 24V or 48V battery banks, which are more efficient for larger off-grid homes and allow for the use of higher-power, lower-cost inverters.

Can I power high-demand appliances like air conditioners or water pumps?

Absolutely. Our larger inverter options (3000W and above) are capable of starting and running well pumps, refrigerators, and even small air conditioning units. The key is to have a sufficiently large battery bank (e.g., 10kWh+) to support the high energy draw and a powerful enough inverter to handle the startup surge.

What happens during several days of cloudy weather?

A well-designed off-grid system accounts for this with "days of autonomy." This is why we offer large battery capacities and highly efficient MPPT charge controllers. For extended bad weather, we recommend having a backup charging source, such as aRenogy DC-DC Chargerconnected to a backup generator, to ensure your batteries stay charged.

How difficult is it to install an off-grid system?

The complexity varies with system size. Connecting the Renogy components (batteries, inverter, charge controller) is straightforward for a competent DIYer.However, we strongly advise that the high-voltage AC wiring from the inverter to your home's breaker panel, as well as the grounding and lightning protection, be performed by a licensed electrician to ensure safety and compliance with local codes.

Are the batteries truly maintenance-free?

Yes. Our Renogy LiFePO4 batteries are completely maintenance-free. Unlike lead-acid batteries, there is no need to check water levels or perform equalization charges. Simply install them, and the built-in Battery Management System (BMS) handles everything for optimal performance and longevity.

Can I expand the system in the future?

Yes, scalability is a core design principle. You can start with a base kit and later add moreRenogy LiFePO4 batteriesin parallel, install additionalsolar panels(within the charge controller's limits), or upgrade to a more powerfulinverter. Our components are designed to work together seamlessly as your energy needs grow.

Do I need a generator backup with a solar system?

While not always mandatory, we highly recommend it for true energy independence. A backup generator, integrated via an inverter-generator port or an automatic generator start function, provides peace of mind. It ensures you have power during extended periods of poor sunlight or if a system component requires service.
