Perfect winter addition for off-grid weekenders
I bought this 200W Renogy blanket panel for short weekend getaways around NSW this winter, and it's been a total game-changer. We usually head out to the Blue Mountains or down to Jervis Bay, where powered sites aren't always available. Even during shorter daylight hours and the cooler season, this panel consistently delivered power to keep our 12V battery topped up. It ran our LED lights, a small heater fan, and even helped recharge the kids’ tablets and my drone. The build is solid, folds down super flat and fits behind the passenger seat of my ute. We mostly lay it over the bonnet or hang it with straps from the awning — both work well. The N-type cells do seem to help in less-than-perfect light; even under partial shade we got decent current. Love that it’s plug-and-play and IP65-rated — had light rain in Kangaroo Valley and it kept going without issues. If you're doing more vanlife or off-grid winter trips, this panel is a smart buy.

Surprisingly efficient in winter — worth every cent
sed this 200W panel during a 2-week loop through Victoria in July. Set it up by the fire pit every late morning, and it still delivered enough power to run our fan heater and lights through the night. We even slow-cooked lunch using the energy it generated during the day. Folded it up each evening and slid it in and out of the boot — no damage, no scratches. It’s compact, sturdy, and keeps performing even in winter light — that’s rare. Totally recommend for any off-season explorers.

Love these Solar panels!
We love how easily it charges our phones and headlamps during winter camping. We’re heading up the coast of NSW next month and this is going to make our off-grid stops so much easier. It’s super light and takes up hardly any space in the back of the ute. We can see this getting a heap of use year-round — especially with all the long weekends coming up.
